Early Elden Ring Sales Success is Huge

Early Elden Ring Sales Success is Huge: Almost every gamer has heard of FromSoftware’s open-world action RPG Elden Ring, which came out on February 25 to rave reviews. The latest Soulsborne adventure from the Japanese company had been on fans’ radars for years and was one of the top-rated games ever.

In a few weeks, Elden Ring became the bestselling game in the US and other countries.

However, the game’s success will likely not forgotten as more fantastic titles come out in 2022. It’s no surprise that Elden Ring is a contender for Game of the Year in December.

Despite some players reviewing bombing Elden Ring to lower its Metacritic score, the game has passed a significant sales milestone. The game has now sold one million copies in Japan and 12 million worldwide, according to FromSoftware.

That amazing amount achieves in less than three weeks. After almost five years on the market, Resident Evil 7:

  • Biohazard sold 10 million copies.
  • Not sold 5 million copies.
  • Horizon Zero Dawn sold 7.6 million copies in its first year.

“It’s amazing how many people have played Elden Ring,” stated FromSoftware President and CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki. Please keep supporting us.” Yasuo Miyakawa, CEO of Bandai Namco, said he wanted to “thank all our fans who have made Elden Ring a part of their gaming lives.”

Miyazaki previously stated that he was apprehensive about the release of Elden Ring, citing previous “unpleasant” game launches. With FromSoftware’s next game, he hoped to top the Souls series in 2016.

Many fans of the developer and Souls-likes, in general, tend to agree. Several skilled players have already completed the game, earning the PlayStation’s platinum trophy. Elden Ring speedrunners have beaten the game in as short as 30 minutes.

Others have been actively tweaking the game’s PC version, making mods pause it, adding an easy or hard mode, etc. A calm Elden Ring mod even includes a photo mode that makes players invisible to adversaries, allowing them to enjoy the game’s varied and beautiful settings uninterrupted.
