England's white ball series in India postponed until early 2021

The England tour of India, which was scheduled for late September and early October this year, was delayed until early 2021, the cricket tables of India and England confirmed on Friday.

The BCCI and the ECB are in consultation to confirm the 2021 schedules for a men’s tour of all formats from England to India from late January to late March and for the test tour of India to England to be held in the summer of 2021.

ECB Executive Director Tom Harrison said: “Now that we have clarity on the postponement of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, it allows us to work with other boards of directors to advance the vital task of optimizing international calendars in the difficult circumstances in which everyone has had to face the COVID-19 pandemic.

“International cricket between India and England is a highlight of the cricket calendar and we look forward to working with the BCCI to make these tour schedules as anticipated as possible as soon as possible.”

Jay Shah, Honorary Secretary, BCCI Secretary, added: “The BCCI and the ECB are working closely together to finalize the schedule as we move towards the resumption of cricket. The India-England series is one of the most anticipated competitions in world cricket. The two teams compete hard on the field and provide some fascinating moments.

“I am satisfied with the way the BCCI and the ECB have managed the situation. The rescheduled course is also being redesigned to accommodate the red and white ball format and will now be complete. ”
