Farmer donates Rs 2 lakh to buy oxygen in Madhya Pradesh: He kept for daughter’s marriage.

Shocked by the plight of COVID-19 patients and the growing struggle for medical oxygen, a farmer from Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district has donated 2 lakhs of rupees that he had set aside for his daughter’s luxurious marriage to the local administration to buy the gas that saved his life. . Champalal Gurjar, a native of Gwal Deviyan village, presented a check for two lakh rupees to the Mayank Agrawal district collector for purchasing two medical oxygen cylinders, one for the district hospital and one for Jeeran Tehsil, where he lives.

Gurjar, who survives from farming, said he raised his daughter Anita very carefully and wished their marriage, which took place on Sunday, to be a grand ceremony.

However, the pandemic situation caused Gurjar to change his mind at the last minute.

“…. So to make my daughter’s marriage memorable, I donated two lakhs to the district administration so they can buy two cylinders of oxygen,” he added.

Anita said that her father’s noble action left her overwhelmed with joy.

“Right now, there is a great need for medical oxygen given the increase in COVID-19 cases,” he said.

Collector Agrawal praised Gurjar’s gesture. “If others follow the example of the farmer and donate, the fight against the pandemic will be much easier,” he said.

As of Sunday, the number of Madhya Pradesh cases stood at 4.99,304 and the death toll stood at 5,133, according to the state health department.
