Get a Bow & Crossbow Early in Elden Ring

Get a Bow & Crossbow Early in Elden Ring: If you choose an Elden Ring class that doesn’t have a ranged weapon, you’ll want to know where to purchase a bow to deliver damage to foes quietly, especially flying adversaries. Fortunately, you can grab a bow and a crossbow early in Elden Ring if you know where to look.

Getting a Bow Early in Elden Ring

Go to the beach on Limgrave’s west shore to grab a bow. It’s right adjacent to where you initially enter the open world, and you can find it by travelling northwest, past the Church of Ellen, and searching for the beach ramp.

Instead of travelling north towards the Coastal Cave, go south and seek a big rock archway. One of the numerous Elden Ring merchants may find underneath here, and this one offers a bow for 600 Runes.

Make sure to pick up some arrows while you’re here so you can put your new ranged weapon to good use.

However, keep in mind that this short bow has a restricted range, making it unsuitable for long-term use or for individuals who like picking out adversaries from huge distances.

Where to Get a Crossbow Early in Elden Ring

If you’d rather have a Crossbow, you can still grab one early on in your journey across The Lands Between. Travel to Saintsbridge, east of Warmaster’s Shack and east of Stormhill Shack.

On the cliffs to the bridge’s northwest, you’ll discover a handful of foes holding crossbows.

They’re standing near several crosses on the cliff’s edge, which you should be able to see from the bridge below.

If you defeat these foes, you’ll have a possibility of getting a ‘Soldier’s Crossbow,’ however, it’s not guaranteed. So you may need to farm them a few times. Although it isn’t the most powerful crossbow in the game, it is a solid choice to have early on in Elden Ring.

Aiming & Using the Bow and Crossbow

By going to the ‘Equipment’ menu and picking one of the armament slots, you may equip the bow to one of your weapon slots. Select your bow, then equip it by pressing left or right on the d-pad, depending on which hand it was fitted.

To use your bow, press L1/ LB/ RMB to aim it, then R2/ RT/ LMB to fire it.
