Google updates YouTube app for iOS after two months, rolls out bug fixes, improvements

After two long months, Google has released an update to Youtube app on iOS. This is the first major iOS app from Google that has been updated since December 7. It has been speculated that Google did not update its iOS apps, Search, Documents, Photos, Y Gmail, to avoid Apple’s new privacy labels. Google released updated YouTube for iOS with version 15.59.6. The changelog doesn’t mention much about the updates coming to the Youtube application, but suggests that the update has fixed bugs to improve performance.

the Youtube The update came to iPhone users after they encountered a message saying the app was out of date when trying to sign in with a Google account. This was not really a security issue and then the warning was quickly removed as well.

While tech companies generally pause work during winter break, updates usually resume in mid-January, which did not happen this time. Some speculation suggests that the lack of launches was due to the nutrition labels of the apps, but YouTube had completed the Privacy section of the app long before the new update.

With the update, YouTube Music, TV, and Studio, as well as Save for Kids, was also updated followed by Apple’s requirement in the early February update and Google has said it is committed to adding tags.

With this update, other updates to the Google iOS app are expected to appear soon. Chrome for iOS already has a noticeable 24-day lag.
