Haryana Covid-19 Latest Update on 3-4-2021

COVID-19 CASES have multiplied rapidly in Haryana in recent days, even in districts that had begun reporting zero new infections. To combat the increase, Haryana (Health) Additional Chief Secretary Rajeev Arora, speaking to VARINDER BHATIA, says that while they have “the weapon of vaccination,” the state “simultaneously relies on their 3-T strategy: test, track and treat protocol – ensuring strict adherence to appropriate Covid behavior, raising awareness and increasing contact tracing ”.

The cases have started to increase once again. What are the factors responsible for this new increase?

There are many reasons. The main reason, of course, is the observed laxity inappropriate Covid behavior (social distancing, wearing face masks, respiratory etiquette) in public places that have large gatherings. This has mainly contributed to the increase. Another important factor is the increased mobility of the population to earn a living and, again, not to take the proper precautionary measures.

Furthermore, it would be premature to say so, but there is a possibility that mutated variants of the virus could also be a cause of a new transmission of the infection in Haryana.

What measures are being taken to control the last wave?

Various measures are being taken to stem the latest wave. The state has already enforced strict standards of appropriate Covid behavior.

Fines and penalties are being imposed on defaulters for not wearing face masks/coverings, or for not following the physical distancing rules of enforcement agencies. IEC (Posters / Standing People / Audiovisual Media) on Preventive Measures for Covid-19 and Covid-19 Vaccination are displayed in prominent locations throughout the districts.

The state is following the test, follow-up, and treatment protocol, which includes an increase in aggressive tests above 95 percent using RT-PCR to detect early positive cases of Covid-19, timely isolation of positive cases providing them with intervention. clinic. Contact tracking of at least 30 contacts of infected people and a quick and effective quarantine measure for those who tested positive are being strictly followed.

The identification of clusters of cases is being carried out in conjunction with the imposition of strict containment measures. The state is strictly monitoring all super spreader events and venues and timely actions are being taken to curb/regulate them. A sample of international travelers who tested positive will be sent promptly for full genomic sequencing (WGS).

Is Haryana exploring options to impose closed closings/night curfews if the situation continues like this or deteriorates further?

As of now, the Haryana government has no plans to impose a night curfew. However, based on daily new Covid-19 cases, we will consider all options accordingly at the appropriate time.

What steps are you taking to ensure the public follows Covid precautions and all standard operating procedures?

All district police chiefs have been ordered to strictly enforce the use of face masks and the rules of social distancing. Senior officers conduct regular monitoring to analyze and review the situation at the ground level, to verify the implementation of appropriate Covid behavior.

At the same time, awareness campaigns are carried out to educate people about precautions. Covid’s practice of appropriate behavior is being widely publicized through radio and television broadcasts, in addition to the display of IEC (posters / standing persons / audiovisual media) in prominent places in all districts. Violators are being fined for following standard operating procedures (not wearing masks/face covers, or not following physical distancing rules) by law enforcement agencies.
