Take a Deep Breath

When you get anxious, your fight or flight response gets activated. This is the body’s way to protect you in a threatening situation. It’s a process involving changes like adrenaline release and an increase in heart rate, all designed to help you become stronger or move faster (and thus fight or flight). This is extremely helpful during an attack, but when you are in a public place like the supermarket, it’s not called for. Question Your Thoughts

The mind can play tricks on you when you’re anxious, distorting your thought process. An abrupt email from your employer, for example, might cause you to think that you have done a mistake. The best advice is to face your fears. Yes, you will face anxiety as you repeatedly face it, but your body will ultimately adjust and get used to it. If facing your fears is daunting, consider breaking them down into small steps and do them until you feel less anxious about it all.

More often than not, people become anxious when they make a negative prediction about something. An example is hesitating to attend an event because you think nobody there will interact with you. If you have a tendency to make negative predictions, work as a scientist and test out your hypothesis. Otherwise, you will never know and may end up being anxious over nothing.

Acceptance

Although anxiety can be uncomfortable, it is still a normal reaction that will happen regardless of how much you wish to get rid of it. Everyone feels anxious from time to time and so, there is nothing to be scared or ashamed about. Accepting anxiety should be just like accepting that you feel sad, angry, frustrated, or happy at times and that it too like other feelings will pass away. So, lead a better life by accepting anxiety!
