They will make their decision now, keeping the national interest in mind.”
The term of office of members Nirmala Sitharaman (Union Finance Minister), KC Ramamurthy of the BJP, and Jairam Ramesh and late Oscar Fernandes of the Congress are set to expire on June 30.
Shivakumar said he would discuss candidates for seven Legislative Council seats elected by MLAs on June 3 with Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah.
“We’ve talked about one round, and we’ll talk about another before taking a call. We only have two seats available, our options are limited, and many people are looking for them (tickets). The high command will decide whatever is in the party’s best interests, “he said.
The election to the Legislative Council is required because the terms of seven members will expire on June 14.
Each MLC candidate would need a minimum of 29 votes to win this election.
