Karnataka has reported a third Omicron case. 

A man who was 34 years old on Sunday was found to have an Omicron variation of Covid-19. It brings the total number in the region of Omicron within Karnataka up to 3. 

“A 34-year old male who returned to South Africa has tested positive. He is isolated and admitted to a hospital run by the government,” K Sudhakar said, health and medical education minister.

Karnataka’s Covid total surpassed thirty lakh. More than 320 cases of fresh Covid-19, while two deaths increased the number of end to 38,257. The health department announced on Saturday. 

The state also achieved more than 8 million vaccinations, including the two doses with 2,80,534 vaccines on Saturday, PTI reported.

In the meantime, Karnataka Police Saturday registered charges against users who used two Facebook accounts for allegedly sharing insulting messages. That includes the death of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. 

The cases were filed within the district’s coastal area of Mangaluru. Mayor Police Commissioner Shashikumar N has said that actions were taken following complaints were lodged against the Facebook accounts.
