Karnataka has reported a third Omicron in the third Omicron

A 34-year-old man was found to have Omicron, the Omicron variation of Covid-19. It brings the total number in the region of Omicron located in Karnataka up to 3. 

“A 34-year-old man who has returned to South Africa has tested positive. He is now isolated and admitted to a government health facility,” The Health Minister and the Medical Education minister K Sudhakar said.

Karnataka’s Covid total surpassed thirty lakh. There were more than 320 cases of fresh Covid-19, while two deaths increased the number of deaths to 38,257, the health department reported on Saturday. 

The state also achieved more than eight million vaccines, including the first and second doses, with 2,805,534 vaccinations on the same day, PTI reported.

Additionally, Karnataka Police Saturday registered instances against the owners. He was using two Facebook accounts for allegedly sharing negative messages regarding the death of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. 

The cases were filed within the district’s coastal area of Mangaluru. Mayor Police Commissioner Shashikumar N said they took action following complaints made against the Facebook accounts.
