A Muslim MLA from Karnataka fed a morsel of food to a Dalit priest, asked him to spit it out, and then ate it in an attempt to send a message of brotherhood. The gesture’s video has since gone viral.
On Sunday, Congress legislator Zameer Ahmed Khan of Bengaluru’s Chamrajpet was at an event commemorating Ambedkar Jayanti and Eid Milan. He claimed that radical elements were attempting to divide communities by targeting them.

He then took some sweets and fed them to a Dalit religious leader standing nearby.
The spiritual leader is seen in the video returning the gesture. The MLA, on the other hand, grabbed his hand and told him to spit out the sweet and feed it to him. While others applauded, the religious leader followed through.
Mr Khan, who has served as a state minister for food and civil supplies, consumer affairs, and minority welfare, is a four-time MLA.
