Petrol and Diesel Price today:
Petrol price today, which is the 7th of December; Tuesday was stable while diesel prices were unchanged. This is because the cost of car fuels was constant after the Centre declared a cut in excise duty on them the last month.
To help the average person, Central government officials cut the price of petrol by 5 rupees and diesel prices by 10. Before this, the costs for fuel were experiencing constant increases and were at or above Rs 100 in many cities.
After the move of the Centre that many states also joined in the effort to cut Value-added Tax (VAT) on both petrol and diesel to lower their costs further.
On November 30th, Delhi became the latest state to announce a cut in VAT on diesel and petrol. The Arvind Kejriwal administration cut tax on gasoline from 30 percent to 19.4 percent, which reduced the cost by 8 rupees.
The price of petrol in Delhi currently stands at 95.41 for a liter. Similar to diesel prices, diesel prices in Delhi remain the same at 86.67 per Liter on Tuesday, six days after the tax reduction.
The price of petrol in Mumbai was 109.98 each liter. Diesel prices in the finance capital were 94.14 for a liter after the price reduction.
Within West Bengal capital Kolkata, prices for one-liter gasoline on Friday were 104.67. In contrast, the price for 1-liter diesel is set at 89.79 in the city’s eastern part.
In Chennai, the price of petrol was reduced to 101.40 for a liter, while the cost of diesel was 91.43. The price of gasoline in Bhopal was Rs 107.23. The diesel price for Madhya Pradesh city was at the expense of 90.87.
The cost of gasoline in Pune was Rs 109.52 per liter, and diesel prices in the city were the price of 92.31 for a liter.
The central government’s tax reduction was the most significant in history. But, as per economists, this cut is only partially reversed the increase of duties to 2020 by 13 rupees per liter for gasoline and the equivalent of Rs 16 per liter for diesel.
This comes after a dramatic decline in oil price and follows on the heels of higher crude prices that have pushed retail prices to record heights.
