Lost Ark discusses paying to win

Lost Ark discusses paying to win: Lost Ark, a South Korean action-RPG MMO that Amazon has made available in English, is off to a perfect start in the United States. It has become one of the most popular games on Steam, with many people still playing it a month after it came out.

Yet, Lost Ark has its flaws, and one of them has recently reignited accusations of pay-to-win monetization. As a result, Amazon has responded directly and changed its plans. This is in part because of the March update for Lost Ark.

If you’re a Lost Ark player and haven’t heard of the problem. It has to do with the MMO’s “endgame grind”. It’s broken up into tiers, and each tier gets more complex and takes a lot more time and resources to get through. This is how the endgame in Lost Ark works.

Lost Ark‘s third tier is very gritty, focusing on a ” Honing ” system that requires a lot of resources for small power gains. These resources can buy with real money has led to people accusing Amazon of having a pay-to-win system.

Since recently, there hasn’t been a lot of debate about it. To explain why to, let’s say Lost Ark didn’t have very many tiers three things to do. There was no need to hone to get into anything. The Argos Abyss Raid add to Lost Ark‘s March patch, which made a big difference.

Argos needs an item level of 1,370, which is a level that requires players to do a lot of tier-three honing. Which often requires them to pay real money to progress. Controversy flared up again, with a lengthy video from Asmongold on Twitch criticizing Amazon’s decisions.

Responding to a complaint about Argos, Amazon goes into great detail about what’s going on and admits that mistakes have been made. Because of bots and real-money transactions. Amazon says that the price of honing materials has risen because people are buying them with real money, and bots are using them to play the game for free. This is why, in the end, Amazon says it was a mistake to launch the March update so soon.

The next step for Amazon will be to make a patch that will help people get through the current content in Lost Ark. Specifically, and it will bring in sharpening materials in the form of Grand Prix prizes, a casual event called Guardian Raid, and the Competitive Proving Grounds season that is coming up.

Also, the next big piece of endgame content, Legion Raids, is being put off until players are ready for it. In April or May, horizontal content like new class types, islands, and the South Vern update will still be there. This is still the case.

Finally, Amazon is giving players a special gift that will arrive the week of March 21. The gift comes with a wide range of cosmetics and materials. It’s a way to make people happy while Amazon works on the updates it said it was working on. Whether Lost Ark players will like Amazon’s changes. Both in the short term and long term, is still up in the air.

On PC, Lost Ark is out now.
