Maharashtra Govt wants to Vaccine 6-7 lakh people Every day
Maharashtra wants to vaccinate 6 to 7 lakhs of people against COVID-19 daily and to achieve the goal, the state needs 40 to 45 lakhs of vaccine vials each week, Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Thursday. A large-scale vaccination campaign will help reduce COVID-19 cases and slow their spread, he said.
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Tope said: “Maharashtra wants to vaccinate 6 to 7 lakh people per day, for which we need to receive 40 to 45 lakh vaccine vials per week.” “If we manage to vaccinate so many people on a daily basis, it would be an important step in slowing the spread of COVID-19 in the state,” Tope said. Maharashtra is the worst affected state in the country in terms of COVID-19 infections and deaths.
“I believe that if a delegation from the state, including members of the opposition, visits New Delhi and addresses the issue with the Center, we will get more vaccines to save lives. We will fix it, ”he said. Commenting on the Remdesivir shortage, he said: “Seven manufacturers had reduced their production when the cases of COVID-19 were going down. “Now they have increased production, but it takes some time to deliver stocks. By the end of April, there will be a 1 lakh supply of Remdesivir vials in the state.”
