Mega Block on Mumbai local train Today.

The Central Railway announced on Sunday the cessation of operations on the Mumbai port line.

“On Sunday, we are announcing a mega block on the port line. There has been quite a bit of damage between the Badlapur, Vangani, and Karjat sections, which have been restored,” said Shivaji Sutar, director of public relations (CPRO) for Central Railway.

In the last week, there were heavy rains in and around Mumbai, central rail services were also affected due to this. Almost all services have now resumed, the official said.

Sutar said the mainline blockade has been canceled and on the suburban network, restoration work is underway on a small patch between Karjat and Khopoli.

“Trains in the ghat section of the Mumbai division run to Pune and Nashik. Services were restored on July 22,” the officer said.

According to the official, services were resumed on the port line, the transport line, and the sections of the mainline.

“Our team has worked on the warpath in the ghat sections that were affected by the heavy rains on July 22. We were able to restore traffic the same day. There were landslides and rockfalls,” he added.
