Bombay: Mumbai police have delegated police officers to investigate allegations of alleged extortion against NCB officers, including area director Sameer Wankhede, in the drug bust case involving Aryan Khan, a senior said on Wednesday police officer.
Police are investigating four complaints, filed by independent witnesses in the NCB Prabhakar Sail case, attorneys Sudha Dwivedi and Kanishka Jain and Nitin Deshmukh, it said.
All complaints have been grouped. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the police recorded Sail’s statement.
Dilip Sawant, Additional Police Commissioner (Southern Region) will oversee the investigation and DCP Hemrajsingh Bagul will assist him as supervising officer.
Deputy Police Commissioner Milind Khetle, Police Inspector Ajay Sawant, Deputy PI Shrikant Karkar, and Deputy Inspector Prakash Gawali will be part of the investigation team.
The investigation order was issued by Vishwas Nangre Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order).
