“Not OK To Associate Population Explosion With Religion”: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, a BJP politician and former minister for minority affairs, said on Tuesday that the “population boom” is a national problem that affects all religions, not just one.

Speaking to ANI, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi stated, “A “population explosion” is a challenge that no nation can afford to ignore. The majority of nations’ effective population control efforts have had favorable outcomes. The citizens of these nations have backed the efforts of their various governments and administrations to rein in the population growth.”

Shafiqur Rehman Barq, a member of the Samajwadi Party, was criticized by Mr. Naqvi for saying that God alone determines whether a woman would give birth to a child “The country’s population expansion cannot be disregarded. On the subject of population control, some individuals desire to “create endless difficulties under the guise of Allah’s kindness.”

According to Mr. Naqvi, linking the population boom to caste or religion is incorrect since it is a national issue, not a religious one.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, previously discussed the population boom at an event in Lucknow on Monday in honor of World Population Day.

India’s population growth, according to Yogi Adityanath, is a consequence of a demographic imbalance.

Adityanath made his remarks in response to a Monday UN study that predicted India’s population would overtake China’s by 2023.
