Owaisi Breaks Silence On PM Modi’s Security Breach

Although the Congress party called PM Modi’s breach of security in Punjab a “drama,”

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi acknowledged the seriousness of the incident.

When he spoke to the media this Friday morning, the president said that the incident was

related to the Special Protection Group tasked with protecting the PM and his Charanjit

Singh Channi led Punjab government.

In the same breath, he criticized the alleged attempts to use social media platforms to

smear those belonging to the Sikh community.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, “The PM’s security was indeed breached.

I strongly condemn hatred spread against Sikhs on social media after the security breach

that we will make you relive 1984 (anti-Sikh riots).

This matter pertains to the SPG and the state government. Why are you dragging Sikhs

into all this? I also condemn this.”

Security lapses during PM Punjab visit

As the Congress party described PM Modi’s breach of security in Punjab as a “drama,”

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi acknowledged the seriousness of the incident.

When he spoke to the media in the past week, he claimed that the issue was related to the

Special Protection Group tasked with protecting the PM and members of the Charanjit

Singh Channi led Punjab government. However, he also criticized the alleged attempts

through social media to criticize members of the Sikh community.

AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi stated, “The PM’s security was in fact compromised.

I strongly denounce the hatred propagated against Sikhs via social media following the

security breach.

It can make you remember 1984 (anti-Sikh protests). The issue is related to the SPG as

well as officials of the State Government. What is the reason you are dragging Sikhs into

this? I’m also disappointed by this.” action.

However, Charanjit Singh Channi claimed, that the state government was not aware of the

details of the PM’s decision to change his route.

In denial of the security breach’ accusation, he stated that there was no threat for the PM.
