As an artist, Shahane said she prefers to be a part of theater because it is an actor’s medium, while film gives her creative satisfaction as a writer and director.
“Theater is the basis for me as an actor. It is fundamental as a basis for most actors as the type of space it gives to explore characters, roles, to have continuity through those hours on stage, is better than any other medium. I will choose films as a writer and director because (the film) is viewed by a director and everyone on set is working to achieve the director’s vision, ”he added.
Speaking about the programming of Prive’s global box office campaign, which includes feature films from around the world, Shahane said that cinema has the power to build connections, overcoming the language barrier.
“There will be a bunch of movies that one is not familiar with. Cinema has the power to create that kind of feeling, to connect even if you don’t have knowledge of the particular language, “he said.
