Satellite images show huge Russian military convoy heading towards Kyiv. 

Satellite images taken on Monday show a Russian military convoy north of the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv that runs for about 40 miles (64 km), a U.S. private company said. 

The company said this is a lot longer than the 17 miles (27 km) reported earlier in the day.

Russian forces shelled Ukraine’s second-largest city on Monday, causing a lot of noise in a residential neighborhood. 

They also moved closer to the capital, Kyiv, in a 40-mile convoy of hundreds of tanks and other vehicles, as talks to stop the fighting failed to produce a deal.

They were done talking with each other, and blasts could be heard in Kyiv. Russian troops were moving toward the city of about 3 million people.

People who took satellite images say the massive convoy of armored vehicles and tanks was 17 miles (25 kilometers) from the city’s center, where most people live.

It was a hectic day of diplomacy around the five-day-old war at the UNGA meeting. 

Ambassadors from dozens of countries came together to support a proposal that asked Russia to stop its attack on Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told a high-level meeting about the Ukraine crisis on Monday night that the government is working around the clock to ensure that all Indians living there are safe and secure. A spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs said this.
