Susan began her profession as soon as she graduated. At the same time, she went on to get a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Susane chose to stay in journalism and was employed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as an associate producer and reporter for television and radio.
She then returned to Beijing in 2003 to work for China Central Television International, where she stayed until 2006, serving as an anchor of the “World News” program. As well as their news editor and the principal presenter of their “Biz China” program.
She got to interview several prominent and well-known persons during this period, including Yao Ming, a famous basketball star, and Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela.
Susan joined Bloomberg Television in 2006 as the anchor of their “Asia Business Tonight” news program; in 2010, she was promoted to host of two more shows, “Morning Call” and “Bloomberg Edge.”
She rose to international prominence after beginning to broadcast “First Up with Susan Li,” a show covering all major news events from across the globe.
Career
She also hosted a few other programs during this period, including “Asia Stars” and “Asia Edge.” In addition, Susan’s employment at Bloomberg Television has allowed her to travel globally and report on some of the world’s most meaningful events, including the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Li moved from Bloomberg Television to CNBC Asia in 2014, when she was appointed as an anchor for the “Asia Squawk Box” TV program. Susan moved to Hong Kong for the role, where she remained until the summer of 2015 – owing to Susan, the show received the best news program award at the Asian Television Awards in 2015.
Li relocated from Asia to Europe in September 2015 to work for CNBC Europe, where she was the host of their “Worldwide Exchange” TV show till the end of the year. Li was traveling across Europe then, and her most recent performance was in London, England.
She went from CNBC Europe to CNBC US in early 2016, where she began working as a journalist and presenter. She remained with the company until the summer of 2018 when she started working as a correspondent for the Fox Business Network, a current position.
