Nitin Gadkari tests positive: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced on Tuesday that
he had confirmed coronavirus by testing with “mild symptoms.”
A 64-year old BJP leader in a tweet stated that he had removed himself from the world and
is now under quarantine at home.
In a tweet, the Minister for Union of Road Transport and Highways also asked everyone who
contacted him to be isolated and checked against the virus.
It was reported that the Maharashtra BJP leader was tested positive for coronavirus during
September last year.
With a rapid increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 prominent politicians like the
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the chief ministers of Bihar (Nitish Kumar) and
Karnataka (Basavaraj Bommai) confirmed that they have been infected and are being
treated for it in isolation.
Federal Minister in charge of Defence Ajay Bhatt, also a minister of state, has said that he
was confirmed the presence of the virus.
A variety of politicians and union ministers wish Singh and others a speedy recovery.
