Tim Southee Dropped Rishabh Pant catches in WTC Final

Tim Southee Dropped Rishabh Pant catches in WTC Final.

Kicking off the rare sixth day of the Southampton World Test Championship final on a bright note, New Zealander Kyle Jamieson came close to landing his third scalp of the day, but gliding outfielder Tim Southee shelled it out this time.

With the rain-stricken game forced into Reserve Day, Jamieson had a confident opening hour, throwing 14 overs in the innings conceding just 17 runs, and taking the home grounds of India captain Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara.

He almost had his third, quite similar to how he got Rishabh Pant in the first inning. Jamieson beat Pant on pace, found the outer edge, but Tim Southee dropped him on the slip. How expensive will this drop be?

Pants vs Wagner

Pant is playing Wagner smartly, coming out of the box and counterattacking. The southpaw hit the pacemaker on Kiwi’s left arm for some limits that were often followed by a few words from the pitcher. During the first session, Pant walked the track and smashed Wagner to the ground for four.

On Day 5 of the WTC final, India went 64 for two in their second inning, leading by 32 runs after firing New Zealand by 249.

Two full days, Friday and Monday, have been eliminated in the Rose Bowl, putting reserve day in play, a sunny Wednesday with 98 overs on sale. The brilliant quality of the bowling offers a chance for someone to win, but a draw is likely, declaring co-champions of the inaugural final.
