Trippier joined Newcastle: Trippier 31 has been brought in via Atletico Madrid for PS12m plus add-ons.
This is Newcastle’s first acquisition after the Saudi Arabian-backed takeover in October.
The England player has signed a contract to stay with the team until the end of 2023-24.
“It’s an indication that the team has a massive pull, and I’m not talking about financial this time,” said head coach Howe.

Howe, who was named Newcastle manager in November, was also hired for England back in 2012, during his time as manager of Burnley.
“Hopefully that with his signing, other players in the world could be interested in his hopes and dreams of what he envisions,” added Howe. “That’s huge for us. ”
Howe declared that he’s confident of signing more players in the transfer window.
He added: “But we’re in the control of clubs that sell players, and we’re in an agent’s hands and players who want to move on.
“There aren’t any promises.
Although it may seem simple from the outside, it’s an entirely different story when you’re inside.
Therefore, I’m sure; however, there aren’t any assurances. ”
Trippier He was the winner of the Spanish title with Atletico in the last season, was left with the remaining 18 months of the contract he signed for Spain.
He added: “I enjoyed my time in Madrid; however, when I spotted an interest in Newcastle United and having had the privilege of working together with Eddie Howe before, I knew that this was where I was meant to be. ”
Newcastle is in the second bottom in the Premier League, having won only one league match this season.
“I’m aware that we have much work to be done, but I’m aware of the requirements of the Premier League well, and I am aware of the amazing club this is that has skilled players,” added Trippier, who Atletico signed in 2019 following four seasons at Tottenham.
“I cannot wait to begin, and I’m eager to play at St James Park as a Newcastle player. ”
Howe claim he “long been awed by” Trippier add: “When the opportunity arose to acquire him, we didn’t hold back.
“A large amount of work was put into planning this January window of transfer before the start of the month as evident by the speed with which we’ve been successful in getting this move complete. ”
Trippier is The player who made up the Spurs team that reached the Champions League final in 2019.
He played 83 times for Atletico following his PS20m transfer.
The player made his England debut in the year 2017 in the team that made it to the semi-finals in the 2017 World Cup – scoring in the semi-final loss to Croatia and the final of the European Championship last summer.
Newcastle hosts Cambridge United in the FA Cup third round on Saturday. The club will also play rivals Watford is in the Premier League on 15 January.
