In the meantime, Corona’s panic has increased in Manikchak and Bhutni areas as the bodies were found floating. Local people claim that the victims’ bodies were floated in the river in Bihar and reached Malda. Locals further claimed that the bodies had been floating in the Ganga for three or four days. But the police administration was not rescuing them.
However, a total of two bodies were found floating on Saturday afternoon. Upon receiving the news, the police of Manikchak Block Administration Bhutni Police Station rushed to the spot. Bholanath Mandal, a local resident, said plastic-wrapped bodies had been floating in the river for some time.
Meanwhile, a team of Red Volunteers went to the area on Saturday afternoon to deal with Corona. The villagers have informed NewsGater that the dead bodies in plastic packets have been floating in the Ganges since Friday afternoon. At that time, the local police did not respond.
