UAE Bans private drones in the wake of the terror attack on Abu Dhabi. 

Dubai: UAE government has issued an order to stop all flying activities of drones operated by private individuals. Also, it banned light sport aircraft in the Gulf country for one month.

Because of the killing of two Indians and a Pakistani citizen was murdered by a drone in Abu Dhabi in a rare drone attack and missile strike claimed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

An announcement issued by The Ministry of Interior ordered to cease all flying activities of drones and light sport aircraft for owners, professionals, and others from January 22.

“The decision came after the misuse spotted recently, not limiting the practice of these sports to the areas identified in the user permits and trespassing into areas where these types of activities are prohibited,” stated the official statement issued by the Wam, the official media outlet. Wam.

According to the report, the rules were put in by the General Authority for Civil Aviation and by applicable guidelines.

The report said that exceptions could be granted to film. Companies with contracts for work or advertising or commercial projects. 

The report said it requires filming with drones to communicate with authority that permits them to get the appropriate permits and exceptions to complete their projects and work.

The ministry reminded people that those who perform these actions in the timeframe and do not follow the rules would face legal liability.

This week the Yemeni Houthi rebels attacked the fuel depot located in Abu Dhabi and the city’s principal airport, increasing tensions in the oil region.

The UAE blamed the attack on Yemen’s Houthi rebels, claiming that this crime will not go unpunished.

ACCORDING TO A STATEMENT RELEASED BY THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION, the UAE “reserves its right to retaliate to these terrorist attacks and this sinful, criminal escalation” according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The Houthi rebels have been responsible for several drone attacks against Saudi Arabian oil facilities in the past. It is believed that the UAE has joined the coalition led by Saudi Arabia in Yemen in the fight against Houthis.
