Delhi recorded its highest peak in a single day in new cases, with more than 3,600 cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
By registering 15,413 new cases in the last 24 hours, India now has more than 4.10 lakh confirmed infections. Of these, 1.69,451 are active cases, while 2.27,755 patients have already been discharged. With 306 deaths, the number is now 13,254. Meanwhile, Delhi recorded its highest peak in a single day in new cases, with more than 3,600 Covid-19 cases reported in the past 24 hours, PTI reported. With this, the total number of cases in the national capital amounted to more than 56,000, while the number of deaths was 2,112.

A police officer attached to the Chhani police station in Vadodara was booked to participate in birthday celebrations during curfew hours, police said Sunday. An alleged video of the celebrations had gone viral on June 20, and top police officials were notified. According to the complaint, the incident took place on a service road outside the Saptapadi party plot in Chhani.
Despite state government relaxations since June 1, curfew hours remain in effect between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
In the alleged video, participants are seen busting cookies on the road, with bicycles parked nearby and four cakes on them. As the group sings the birthday wishes and captures the entire event on their cameras, they are also heard mutually telling each other that they should not circulate or share the video with anyone.
Delhi Police Conduct Yoga Session For Staff To Eliminate Stress And Boost Immunity
Delhi police organized a one-hour yoga session for their staff on International Yoga Day on Sunday to de-stress them and improve their immunity, police said. About 100 Delhi traffic police officers and employees led by their Special Commissioner Taj Hassan and Joint Commissioner Meenu Chaudhary participated in the yoga session, they said.
According to the police, the idea was also to help the staff increase their level of concentration, through certain yoga ‘asanas’ such as’ Sukshma Vyayam’, ‘Bramari’, ‘Nadi Shodan Pranayam’, ‘Bhastrika Pranayam’ and ‘meditation Chakra’. The Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) also organized a yoga session in the office of its president Pratima Shrivastava. A limited number of team leaders and officials attended the event due to social distancing rules in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Student-led expert group launches helpline to find work for workers affected by Delhi-NCR confinement
A group of students from IIT, IIM, and other renowned institutions launched a pilot project and a helpline number on Sunday to help those who lost their jobs during the coronavirus-required lockdown to find work.
The students, who have created Students for Government Involvement and Mutual Action (SIGMA), are being assisted by Deputy Commissioner Delhi, Abhishek Singh, and bureaucrat Durga Shakti Nagpal in their effort.
The helpline – 8800883323 – “ekatra” was conceptualized by students to help recruit unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled workers at Delhi-NCR, Singh said during the online launch of the pilot project and the number of the helpline.
The helpline will be operational from 10 am to 7 pm every day. Student volunteers will take calls from potential employers and workers and take note of your requirements.
