As Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the family of musician Sidhu Moose Wala in Mansa this morning, a few individuals staged a protest against the Punjab Police for reportedly preventing them from accessing the Moosa hamlet by deploying strong security.
The police, on the other hand, said that no one was being prevented from entering the community.
Today, the Chief Minister paid a visit to the family of late Punjabi musician Sidhu Moose Wala to convey his condolences.
Gurpreet Singh, a member of the governing Aam Aadmi Party, was also met with protests when he arrived at Moose Wala’s residence ahead of Chief Minister Mann’s visit.
Protesters chanted anti-state government chants as well.

Senior government officials and police officers arrived at the demonstration site to help calm things down.
On Thursday, Punjab politicians Harpal Singh Cheema and Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal met with Moose Wala’s family in Mansa to express their condolences over the singer’s demise.
On May 29, some unidentified assailants shot and killed Moosewala in Punjab’s Mansa district, a day after the state government reduced his security protection. The assault also wounded his cousin and a friend riding in the vehicle with him.
On Thursday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court was notified that the security cover for 424 protectees, which had been temporarily reduced, would be restored on June 7.
The Punjab government reduced security coverage in the aftermath of “Ghallughara week” and the Operation Bluestar anniversary.
The security officers were “being removed on a completely temporary basis in connection with an emergency law and order duty,” the Punjab Police claimed.
