On Thursday, Eintracht Frankfurt advanced to their first European final in 42 years with a 1-0 home victory over 10-man West Ham, completing a 3-1 aggregate victory in their Europa League semi-final against West Ham.
Aaron Cresswell was sent off early in the game for kicking a ball at a ball boy. West Ham manager David Moyes was also sent off with 12 minutes left for kicking a ball at a ball boy. “I was disappointed. The night didn’t go well for us, Moyes told BT Sport. It didn’t happen with small things, but I am very proud of the players.

“The way they played with ten men was incredible. They stayed there.”
When Frankfurt played against the Rangers in the Europa League final in Seville on May 18, Colombian striker Rafael Borre scored a goal in the first half to give Frankfurt a place in the final.
For the first time since they lost the 1960 European Cup final to Real Madrid, they are now just one win away from qualifying for the Champions League.
Eintracht club president Peter Fischer said, “A dream has finally come true. We are very happy.”
“This city should get it.” We’re going to win this now.
West Ham didn’t get to play in their first major European final since 1976, long ago.
Two teams played like us, and we didn’t know what to do. Our captain, Declan Rice, said that he was “gutted.”
Following a red card, Borre scored. The visitors were down a man for more than an hour and needed to score twice to get the game into extra time.
Moyes was angry
Key defender Martin Hinteregger had to leave the game early because he hurt his leg.
Cresswell pulled him back when Jens Hauge of Frankfurt was put in space by a long ball. Hauge went down just outside the area.
Cresswell, who was also sent off in the first leg of the quarter-final against Lyon, was only booked at first. After a VAR review, referee Jesus Gil Manzano showed the red card to Cresswell.
Angry at the decision, manager David Moyes brought on defender Ben Johnson for Manuel Lanzini.
Even so, Frankfurt scored in the 26th minute to win the game.
A cross from Ansgar Knauff found Borre, who fired a shot into the back of the net without anyone else in the way.
Frankfurt only had a few chances for Knauff and Filip Kostic in the second half, which caused much trouble on the left.
West Ham had chances of their own, but Manzano sent Moyes to the stands when the Scot got angry.
Ex-Everton and Manchester United manager: “I kicked a ball back at a ball boy, so I’m sorry.” “He threw it at me very softly,” I told him.
Because they lost to Chelsea on penalties, Frankfurt is in their first European final since they won the UEFA Cup in 1979/80.
He said, “That was an evening you’ll never forget.” “The team was very good.”
