You produce children, why should government pay for their education
An MLA from Uttar Pradesh BJP was recorded asking a group of women why the government should bear the costs of their children’s education, since they are the ones who produce them.
The comments were allegedly made when a group of women approached Auraiya MLA Ramesh Diwakar to request waiver of private school fees during a public interaction in his constituency on Sunday.
“Bachchey aap paida karo aur rupiya hum dein (you produce the children and we give the money),” the BJP MLA was seen saying to the women.
Surrounded by women, the MLA further says: “What are public schools for? There is no fee charged there. ”
“Paisa humse mangne aati ho, ki wahan sifarish kar do (you come to us for money and recommendations),” he says, adding that the government gives everything: food and clothing.
One of the women in the crowd is also seen reacting to this, telling the MLA that it is the public that has chosen him.
Reacting to the incident, BJP spokesman Samir Singh said: “I am not aware of this problem, and neither is the state leadership. But no one has the right to speak in an unworthy way to women. ”
“The BJP is the party that respects the ‘sarv samaj’. In the event of any complaint, the matter will be investigated ”, he said.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary called the MLA’s comment unfortunate.
“This comment from the BJP MLA is regrettable and reprehensible, and this is the character of the BJP,” he said.
The BJP and its people do not help anyone and humiliate women, Chaudhary added.
