2 Planes crashed at North Las Vegas Airport killing 4 people.
According to aviation authorities, all four occupants of both general aviation aircraft were killed in the collision of two airplanes at North Las Vegas Airport.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a Piper PA-46 and a Cessna 172 collided on Sunday at 12 p.m. local time as they were getting ready to land.
The Cessna plummeted into a water retention pond. At the same time, the Piper crashed into a field east of Runway 30-Right, according to the FAA. There were two persons on board each aircraft.
According to a statement from the Clark County Department of Aviation, there were no survivors.
The National Transportation Safety Board and FAA are looking into what caused the collision.
According to the aviation department, two runways were blocked into the evening to let first responders and investigators investigate the situation hours after the tragedy. The airport, however, remained open for air traffic.
