2 seriously injured after vehicle falls off cliff near Lompoc.

LOMPOC– Two people were seriously injured after their vehicle fell off a cliff near Lompoc on Sunday night.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Sweeney Road.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a GMC truck ran off the highway 75 feet and fell off the cliff. Two people, a man, and a woman were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be rescued by firefighters.

One suffered serious injuries and the other suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to the hospital by helicopter to be treated for their injuries.

Its current conditions are unclear at this time.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department was assisted by the Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit, the Lompoc Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol.
