4 people are dead, including 3 injured, in a car chase in Texas.

The Texas Department of Safety tweeted that a motorist suspected of smuggling people slammed into a truck on Thursday, killing four people and injuring three more.

According to the Texas DPS, the event happened on Interstate 35 near Encinal, Texas.

The Texas DPS tweeted Thursday, “The motorist suspected of people smuggling avoided law enforcement & crashed into a commercial truck.”

The airbags are deployed, the glass is broken, and the passenger side doors have been taken from the wrecked white Jeep that was slammed up against the rear of the truck in the agency’s picture of the incident.

After 64 migrants suspected of entering the United States illegally were found in the back of a tractor-trailer on Monday by San Antonio police officers and Homeland Security officials, the tragic collision on Tuesday marks the second deadly human smuggling incident this week in Texas.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner revealed on Wednesday that 53 migrants died due to being left in the truck without water or air conditioning.
