Kerala Health Minister Veena George said they had arranged tests at the Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and the National Institute of Virology unit Alappuzha.

What is Zika Virus?

Kerala Health Minister Veena George added that they had taken an action plan to control the Zika virus’s spread. Therefore, they will examine pregnant women immediately if they feel fever, he said.

How is this Zika virus spreading?

According to experts, the Zika virus is spreading through Aedes mosquitoes. The virus spreads very quickly. Therefore, if an Aedes mosquito bites a person, they become infected with the virus. 

At the same time, if the mosquito bites a healthy person later, they may also affect by the Zika virus. It is how the Zika virus spreads from one person to another.

What are the symptoms of the Zika Virus?

A person infected with the Zika virus first develops a fever. The fever continued to rise. With that, bash comes out on the body. Eye problems can occur, meaning conjunctivitis. It starts with pain in the hands, feet, and head.
