6 workers killed in blast of a boiler at a factory located in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. 

At least six workers were killed. Several others were seriously injured when boilers at a noodle factory in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district burst into flames. 

The explosion was said to have occurred at around 10 pm on Saturday and was so loud that the sound could be heard five miles away from the site.

In the blast’s aftermath, the adjacent flour mill was destroyed, and two laborers who were asleep inside also suffered injuries. 

In confirming the incident, the District Magistrate Pranav Kumar had previously told reporters that five people had died and six were injured in the explosions in the boiler of a noodles manufacturer in Muzaffarpur. The investigation continues.”

The death toll was later raised to 6, Muzaffarpur Magistrate Pranav Kumar confirmed in a conversation with reporters.

The factory is situated inside Muzaffarpur’s Bela Industrial area of Muzaffarpur. Although a rescue mission is underway to eliminate the debris, sources have said that over 10 bodies have been entrapped inside the factory.

Jayant Kant, Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police, who was among the first people to visit the site, stated, “We have found six bodies out of the debris to date. 

In addition, five people have also suffered injuries and are being treated at the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital.

“The rescue effort is currently in progress. Police and firefighters are working to remove the wreckage. However, the official added that the precise number of victims had not been known at this time.

In the meantime, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has announced an ex-gratia sum of Rs 4 lakhs per person for the family members of those blast victims to the boiler incident that occurred at a private manufacturing facility located in Muzaffarpur district.

He also instructed authorities to aid victims of the attack and demanded a thorough investigation from police.
