57 seats will be up for grabs in the sixth round of elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Political heavyweights like Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Congress’ Ajay Kumar Lallu will find out their fate on Thursday.
It’s over with 292 out of 403 assembly seats in the state now, so the voting is taking place in Purvanchal, where 111 are up for grabs.
On Thursday, 57 seats in 10 districts will go to the polls. Then, on March 7, 54 seats in another 10 districts will vote.

On Thursday, those districts where voting will be held are Ambedkarnagar, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, and Basti. Sant Kabir Nagar and Maharajganj are also in those districts.
These 57 assembly seats, 11 of which are reserved, are essential for the BJP.
In the 2017 elections, it had won 46 of these seats, so it had a big lead.
Ajay Kumar Shukla, the Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh, said the campaign for the sixth phase came to an end at 6 pm on Tuesday.
All preparations for voting have been done.
Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the BJP to join the Samajwadi Party, runs in Fazilnagar.
There are 676 candidates in this election.
The Samajwadi Party has put the wife of a former BJP leader against Adityanath. Founder Chandrashekhar Azad is also running for office.
Ram Govind Chaudhary, a member of the Samajwadi Party, runs in Bansdih.
He was the leader of the opposition in the previous assembly.
In this phase, many incumbent ministers will also find out if they will be re-elected or not.
A lot of them are trying to get elected in the Pathardeva seat. They include Surya Pratap Shahi from Pathardeva, Satish Chandra Dwivedy from Itwa, Shree Ram Chauhan from Khajani, and Jai Prakash Nishad from Rudrapur, as well as many others.
Surendra Singh, the current MLA from Bairia in Ballia, has joined the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), a new party in Uttar Pradesh politics.
He will face the public in this phase.
After the BJP turned him down for a ticket, he went to VIP.
They went on a full-out attack against each other during this phase of the campaigning.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the BJP’s rivals “ghor pariwarvadi” (staunch dynasts), and he said they couldn’t make India or Uttar Pradesh intense, so he called them that.
Her family hasn’t agreed to the BJP’s demands. The general secretary of the Congress said the BJP was only against her family, which hasn’t changed its ways.
Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, said the BJP was planning to end reservations and sell government jobs to the private sector.
There are more than 2.14 million people in this phase.
