9-year-old Astroworld concert attendee dies, death toll now stands at 10.
A 9-year-old boy died from injuries he sustained at Astroworld more than a week after the event, according to the mayor of Houston.
Ezra Blount attended the concert with his father. The family says he was trampled after his father passed out.
Since then, the boy had been in a medically induced coma after sustaining injuries to his internal organs.
I am saddened to learn of Ezra’s death this evening. Our city tonight prays for his mom, dad, grandparents, other family members and classmates at this time. They will need all of our support in the months and years to come. May God give them strength. RIP Ezra. st #AstroWorld pic.twitter.com/Ankq7FMa3l

The Dallas boy is the 10th and youngest person to die as a result of the tragedy that occurred when crowds of fans took the stage during a performance by headliner Travis Scott.
“The Blount family tonight is mourning the incomprehensible loss of their precious son,” family attorney Ben Crump said in a news release Sunday night. “This shouldn’t have been the result of taking your son to a concert, which should have been a joyous celebration.”
The boy suffered severe brain, kidney and liver damage after being “kicked, stepped on, trampled and nearly crushed to death,” according to a lawsuit his family filed against Scott and the event’s organizer, Live Nation. The Blount family is seeking at least $ 1 million in damages.
The others who died were between 14 and 27 years old. Some 300 people were treated at the festival site and 13 were hospitalized.
Investigators with the Houston police and fire department have said they are reviewing surveillance video provided by concert promoter Live Nation, as well as dozens of clips that people on the show shared widely on social media.
Investigators also planned to speak with Live Nation representatives Scott and concertgoers. Scott and the event organizers are now the focus of a criminal investigation.
