Sanjay Singh, an AAP politician, has filed a police complaint against BJP leader K Eshwarappa for allegedly saying that the saffron flag will one day become India’s national flag and has demanded that he be arrested.
Eshwarappa, a BJP MLA and former Karnataka government minister, says that the saffron flag has been revered for thousands of years and will surely become the national flag one day.

Mr. Singh said he had applied with the North Avenue police station in this city to make a case against the BJP representative.
“I’ve filed an FIR against Eshwarappa for allegedly disrespecting the national flag by claiming that the saffron flag would replace India’s national flag one day. The national flag has not been flown at the RSS headquarters for over 50 years. The BJP opposes the national flag, “The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP said.
He went on to say that Eshwarappa should be arrested for his remarks.
