About AIIMS:

The degrees awarded by the Institute under the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences Act are recognized medical qualifications for the purposes of the Indian Medical Council Act and, without prejudice to anything contained therein, are deemed to be included in the first Annex of that Law, which entitles holders to the same privileges as those attached to equivalent awards from recognized Indian universities.
