Airbnb aims to end Halloween parties this weekend.

Airbnb is taking steps to prevent Halloween parties in rented houses through its platform.

One-night bookings on whole-house listings will be blocked this weekend for users without a history of positive reviews.

Airbnb launched its global party ban in August 2020. Includes an occupancy limited to 16 people and encourages the neighbors to report excessive noise or unsafe behavior.

The company estimated that the policy led to a 49 percent drop in unauthorized parties for Halloween in the US and Canada by 2020.

In Ohio last year, more than 600 people were discouraged from booking entire homes for Halloween, according to Airbnb. Most were in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
