Akhilesh Pati Tripathi was seriously hurt when his car flipped on the Lucknow-Agra expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao on Thursday when he was coming back from a campaigning trip.
Five other people in the car with Mr. Tripathi were hurt in the accident, AAP’s Uttar Pradesh spokesperson, Mahendra Singh, said in a statement.

He said that Mr. Tripathi and his friends were on their way back from Gorakhpur, where they had been campaigning for the party when the incident happened.
He said his car flipped over because one of its wheels came off at the last minute.
“The MLA was in the front seat of the car when he was hurt in the accident,” he said.
Delhi Model Town MLA was taken to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow after the accident, where they were given medicine. It’s good news for him, Mr. Singh said.
