After a lot of dilly-dallying, Akhilesh Yadav has decided to take part in his first Uttar

Pradesh election, sources told today.

He had previously stated that he would not contest the elections and instead concentrate

on each seat within the state.

Akhilesh Yadav represents one of the Lok Sabha MP from Azamgarh in the eastern part of

Uttar Pradesh and has never run for a statewide election.

The seat is not determined yet, according to sources.

Sources told us that pressure was placed on the Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief

Minister of Uttar Pradesh after the party’s Yogi Adityanath, who is currently the chief

minister of Uttar Pradesh, decided to run in the state elections for the first time.

Yogi Adityanath will run in Gorakhpur Sadar in eastern UP.

The BJP anticipates significant gains in this area by fielding the priest politician, the head of

the Gorakhpur Mutt.

According to the sources, Akhilesh Yadav may pick one of the seats from the eastern part

of UP or an area with a central seat, such as the famous Lucknow.

A contest from multiple seats is also possible.

The reports of Akhilesh Yadav vying for the presidency coincided with the fact that his

sister-in-law Aparna Yadav is expected to be a part of the BJP in Delhi and move towards

the opposing direction several prominent leaders from the backward caste from the BJP

have switched towards the Samajwadi Party recently.

The previous November, Akhilesh Yadav announced that he would not be contesting the

elections.

However, his party was quick to clarify that a decision is yet to be made in the election by

its party.

“I will not be contesting the assembly election myself,” the Samajwadi MP was quoted by

PTI, the news agency.

PTI in 2012, he led his Samajwadi Party to a big victory in UP and took over as the nation’s

youngest Chief Minister at the age of 38. He was a Lok Sabha MP from Kannauj at the time.

Then, he went on to an avenue through the state Legislative Council. The wife of his Dimple

Yadav won unopposed from the seat he left, Kannauj.
