Amit Shah Appeals For Mass Participation In 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign

Amit Shah, the union home minister, urged Indians on Tuesday to enthusiastically participate in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to let the world know that India had “risen from sleep.” He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction, the nation is making rapid progress and is headed toward becoming a “great” power.

Speaking to a crowd at the “Tiranga Utsav” celebration of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, he said that since 2014, Modi’s leadership has been constructing a “Naya Bharat” following his vision.

“Since 2014, the respect for the Indian flag has increased worldwide as has India’s prominence overseas. The world has not formed an opinion on every issue that has arisen until PM Modi has made a remark about it “said Amit Shah.

To honor the heritage of independence warrior Pingali Venkayya, who also created the Indian flag, the Ministry of Culture sponsored the massive ceremony in the evening.

Amit Shah urged people, especially young people, to follow PM Modi’s advice and change their profile pictures on social media platforms from August 2 to the tricolor.

He also encouraged people to take selfies with the flag from August 13–15 as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign and post them on the campaign’s website.

Amit Shah addressed the large crowd gathered at Indira Gandhi Stadium and said, “By doing so, you would also be paying honor to Venkayya, who created the flag for the nation and the troops who have laid their lives down for India.”

The home minister urged people to fly flags from August 13 to 15 with tremendous excitement to let the world know that India had emerged from its sleep, was progressing rapidly, and was headed in the right direction towards greatness.

In addition, Amit Shah said that “some individuals” had commented on the tricolor event, but he would disregard them.

Tiranga is our ‘aan, baan aur shaan,’ thus I’m not here to make any political statements, he remarked.

This event from August 13–15 would not be a “sarkari festival,” but rather a “nation’s festival,” according to Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy. Numerous notable figures, including actor Amitabh Bachchan, sports star Kapil Dev, cricketer Virat Kohli, and playback singer Asha Bhonsle, appear in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” anthem video.

Ragini Makkhar and her group and vocalists Kailash Kher and Harshdeep Kaur gave live performances throughout the musical event.

The occasion commemorated Venkayya’s 146th birthday, credited with creating India’s national flag.
