The simmering tensions surrounding the controversial law of war AFSPA was not a part of the Union home minister Amit Shah’s election campaign on Wednesday, for the elections that will begin this week Manipur in Manipur, where he pledged to engage in talks of peace in the State with Kuki extremist groups, and ensure stability in the coming five years.
The issue of Bodo militants was resolved in neighboring Assam the state of Assam; it is now clear that no Kuki youth has to carry guns for long the president Shah stated at an election rally held in the Manipur’s Churachandpur district, remained unconcerned about the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) that grants the broad military authority over much of the northeast.

The issue has been under scrutiny following a tense encounter in Nagaland, which left 14 people along with one soldier in dead December.
Militant organizations, such as the Kuki National Organisation and United People’s Front, demanded an independent State for the Kuki tribe of Manipur.
The government has agreed to a Suspension of Operations (SoO) with Kuki National Organization and United People’s Front.
“Have faith in us. We will speak to all Kuki organizations, and a new beginning will be provided to everyone Kuki youths, enabling them to be part of the development of the country of the hills as well as of Manipur in the administration of the leadership of PM Modi,” Mr. Shah stated.
“We have helped these people (Bodo rebels) towards progress, and now, none of the Bodo youths are holding weapons in their possession. Instead, they carry keys to their motorcycles, keys to laptops and industries,” Mr. Shah claimed.
Similar things have been happening in Karbi areas, and over 9,500 people associated with militants from North East have resigned.
North East has surrendered and joined the mainstream; the BJP leader announced at the rally to vote.
The people are being urged to help bring the BJP back to the limelight in the second instance at Manipur; Shah claimed that Chief Minister N Biren Singh, in the past five years, has liberated Manipur from bandhs and blockades and has led Manipur on a way of peace and development.
He criticized Congress and claimed it was notorious for its militancy, drug use and blockades, arms trafficking, and corruption during its time of rule.
Under the leadership of BJP, the BJP, all of the above have been replaced by connectivity, development, infrastructure, and industries and sports, the BJP’s Mr. Shah declared, adding that the state has been “transformed” in the past five years.
“During the period of the Congress, the three Is were Instability, Insurgency, and Inequality. Under the BJP rule, the Is are Innovation, Infrastructure, and Integration,” the Union Minister told reporters.
He said that Congress wanted people from the valley and hills to be at war to fit its plan; however, the BJP led them to the development path.
Mr. Shah declared that Prime Premier Narendra Modi wants to make Manipur the top sports hub in the country.
He also wants to rid the youngsters of weapons and drugs and become Olympic gold medalists.
A National Sports University is being established in the state. It has been decided to set up a Khelo India center across all 16 districts within the state, to harness local talent and offer them the opportunity to showcase their abilities, Mr. Shah stated.
He announced that an ‘Olympic Park’ that covers 10 acres would be constructed to provide training facilities to athletes at the state level to develop into international athletes.
He stated that over the last five years, this BJP government has been working hard to end the violence that has been raging in Manipur and transform it into an ideal state.
In the coming 5 years, Manipur will become the top state in the entire region.
The elections for the state assembly within the State will be conducted in two phases, on Feb. 28 and 3rd March, and the count of votes taking place on March 10.
