Arvind Kejriwal slams BJP over drug smuggling in Gujrat

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Chief Minister of Delhi, posed several inquiries after the Punjab Police’s statement on a significant narcotics bust on Sunday (August 28, 2022). Kejriwal recently poked fun at the BJP-led Gujarati administration for drug smuggling in the state.

Kejriwal took to Twitter to share a story about the Punjab police recovering a significant amount of heroin “Who is smuggling narcotics into Gujarat on such a vast scale? Who is the proprietor of this company? Consider how often you must be leaving without being discovered.

Is such a large-scale drug trade even conceivable without the collaboration of influential individuals? You are engulfing the nation’s young in darkness.”

Notably, the Punjab Police said on Sunday that it had detained two people and recovered 38 kg of heroin from a vehicle in Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab.

Police apprehended the truck driver and his companion despite their best efforts to flee. The police official said that Bittu and Kulwinder Ram were the culprits.

According to a statement from the police, “the drug smuggler known as Rajesh Kumar, along with his henchmen Som Nath Bikko, Kulwinder Kinda, and Bittu, is engaged in the business of supplying large quantities of heroin in different areas of Punjab by bringing the drug from other states through the truck.”

The CBI is investigating deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s suspected participation in the Delhi excise policy issue, which is the subject of the ongoing AAP vs. BJP battle. Meanwhile, a Twitter argument regarding the disparity in school conditions between Delhi and Assam occurs between the CM of Delhi and his BJP counterpart in Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma.
