A 4.7 magnitude earthquake hits Assam.
A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck Assam’s Sonitpur district and Guwahati at 5:54 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.
So far there are no reports of loss of life or damage, police said.
People ran out in fear after the earthquake.

The epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers located at latitude 26.71 degrees north and longitude 92.63 degrees east in the Tezpur area of the Sonitpur district, the NCS said.
