Kamalpur Assembly Election 2021: The Kamalpur constituency is located in the Kamrup district of Assam.

It belongs to the Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency.

In the 2016 Assembly election, the constituency had a total of 1,58,049 registered voters.

Voter turnout in Kamalpur in the pre-Assembly elections was 85.71 percent.

Winners and results of previous elections

In the 2016 Assembly elections, AGP’s Satyabrat Kalita, with 78,170 votes, won a complete victory. The runner-up, INC’s Pranjit Choudhury, received just 41,261 votes.

In the 2011 Assembly election, BJP’s Jadab Chandra Deka, with 40,288 votes, easily beat INC’s Uttara Kalita, who garnered 28,141 votes.

Election date and time

The Kamalpur constituency will go to the polls on April 1 as part of the second phase of the elections in West Bengal.

The Election Commission announced the voting dates for the Assembly election in Assam on Friday (February 26).

Elections in Assam will be held in three phases between March 27 and April 6.

The first phase of the Assembly election will take place on March 27 in 47 constituencies, while in the second phase elections 39 constituencies will be voted on on April 1.

The third and final phase will take place on April 6 with 40 constituencies, Arora announced on Friday.

The dates for the submission of nominations for the first, second and third phases are March 9, March 12 and March 19, respectively, while the scrutiny of nominations will take place on March 10, March 16, and March 20, respectively. The latest dates for the withdrawal of candidatures are: March 12, March 17 and March 22, respectively.
