Aston Villa looks to 49-year-old as next manager

Aston Villa looks to 49-year-old as next manager.

Aston Villa is interested in appointing Kasper Hjulmand as its new manager in case Dean Smith needs to be replaced, according to a report by The Sun.

Smith is under increasing pressure at Villa Park. The Villans have lost their last five in the Premier League.

Villa could finish matchday 17 on the table. And they are currently two points above the last three.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Smith. You surely have a lot of credit in the bank after an impressive tenure so far.

Paulo Fonseca is reportedly a target. And the sun is now claiming that there is interest in the head of Denmark, Hjulmand.

Aston Villa points to Hjulmand doing the best job of his career with Denmark

The 49-year-old is best known for leading his country to the Euro 2020 semi-final.

Denmark won a lot of applause throughout the tournament. They showed incredible strength and unity, particularly in their first game, in the way they dealt with the tragic events involving Christian Eriksen.

And it is one of only two teams that has already qualified for next year’s World Cup. Germany is the other that has reserved its place alongside host Qatar.

However, the rest of Hjulmand’s track record does not stand out. He had a brief period in Mainz, succeeding Thomas Tuchel.

And he won a Danish league title with Nordsjaelland.

However, your work with Denmark has been excellent. And perhaps Villa is now weighing whether he can bring that success to the Premier League.
