Astros vs Braves final score World Series since 1995

Astros vs Braves final score, results: Atlanta wins first World Series since 1995.

For the first time since 1995, the Commissioner’s Trophy returns to Atlanta.

The Braves may not have been able to clinch the World Series title at their home stadium, but they wasted little time in Houston establishing that they would finish the series in six games. The Braves hit three home runs, including a shot to the moon by Jorge Soler, to propel the offense to seven runs, the second time the team scored that many runs at Houston in three games.

The offensive torrent was more than enough for Max Fried and the Braves bullpen, who left Houston to win Game 6 7-0 and claim the team’s fourth World Series title.

GAME 5: Maldonado plays the hero | Braves rest the best relievers

Soler, who also hit the lead homer in Game 4, continued his postseason heroics in the third with his no-doubt exploding to the left. He sent him 446 feet, sending him over the railroad tracks to the left to give Atlanta the lead.

Dansby Swanson was the next to join the home run parade. In the top of the fifth, he lined up one at the Crawford Boxes with a running back to put Atlanta up 5-0. After Soler walked with two outs in the inning, Freddie Freeman doubled off the left-center wall to make it a 6-0 game. Freeman added one more to Atlanta’s total with a solo shot to dead center in the seventh.

The last time he pitched in Houston, Fried worked five innings and allowed six earned runs on seven hits. He was at his game A on Tuesday. Fried pitched six scoreless innings, struck out six, and allowed just four hits to Houston.

Reliever Tyler Matzek came in and pitched two scoreless innings in the seventh and eighth with four strikeouts. Closer Will Smith entered the ninth and closed the door.
