“Balasaheb’s Shiv Sainik” Became CM: Eknath Shinde: Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde said on Friday that Maharashtra, in addition to his Assembly colleagues, is pleased that “Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sainik” has been appointed chief minister.
A breakaway group of Shiv Sena MLAs and Independents supported Mr. Shinde when he took the oath of office as chief minister of Maharashtra on Thursday. The BJP backed Mr. Shinde.
Mr. Shinde took the oath in Mumbai before traveling back to Goa at midnight to meet with his coworkers, who had helped him rebel against Uddhav Thackeray.
Speaking to the media at the Goa Airport, he said that Maharashtra’s 50 MLAs had made this day possible.
Shiv Sainik, a character created by Balasaheb Thackeray, has been elected as the state’s chief minister, welcomed by Mr. Shinde’s colleagues and all of Maharashtra.
The chief minister promised that his administration would carry out the tasks that the people of Maharashtra had demanded of them.
According to Mr. Shinde, his administration would seek to ensure that everyone in society receives justice. “We’ll also move Balasaheb Thackeray’s vision forward.” When questioned about the cabinet’s growth, Mr. Shinde said the plan would be reviewed with his colleagues.
On Wednesday night, Mr. Shinde and his backing MLAs landed in Goa. He headed for Mumbai late on Thursday.
Mr. Shinde was sworn in as the next chief minister of Maharashtra in a sequence of political events in Mumbai, while BJP leader Devendra Fadanavis took the oath to serve as his deputy.
The Shiv Sena MLAs who remained at the resort in Dona Paula, Goa, celebrated his swearing-in.
Mr. Shinde traveled to the resort, which was 30 kilometers from the airport and where the MLAs were ready to greet him, after arriving at Dabolim Airport.
